The establishment of european union of offal and giblets

At the end of last year, the European Union of Offals and Giblet was established in Barcelona with the French name of Union des Tripiers Européens (UTE).

The members of the entity are professional companies of offal and giblets from Spain, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK, including Frimosa.

The president of UTE is Gérard Cathelin, honorary president of the National French Confederation of Offal (CNTF), organization that boosted the establishment of this new union. For his part, Josep Ramells, president of the National Association of Bussines of Tripe and Meat Byproducts and Offal Guild of Catalonia, was elected executive vice president. Finally, the general secretary of CNTF, Nathalie Feugeas, was appointed treasurer.

Among the most important objectives of UTE are to guarantee the promotion and defense of the common professional interests through the application of collective action. Also, to be technical mediator beetwen offal companies and European Commission.

Next UTE meeting will be celebrated at the framework of IX International Congress of Meat, this June 2012 in Paris.
